MODEL ICAO · THE OFFICIAL ICAO SIMULATION IN MONTREAL

You will not be simulating a room.
You will be sitting in it.

Model ICAO is the only United Nations model held inside a UN organization. For five days, university students represent Member States, negotiate the future of international civil aviation, and vote their own resolutions in ICAO's actual Council Chamber.

What you actually do

You are assigned a State

Not the one you would have chosen. You research what it has signed, what it has refused, and what it stands to lose — then you defend that position for five days.

You sit on a committee

Safety, security, environment, economic develpment, legal and Council. Real files, current ones, briefed by professionals from ICAO, the European Commission, ACI World and McGill.

You negotiate, and then you vote

Working papers, draft resolutions, amendments, a crisis nobody prepared for, and a final vote in the Council Chamber on a text you wrote

New for the 10th edition

Ten years in, the 2027 edition goes further than the simulation itself.

Next Generation Aviation Symposium

A dedicated program bringing participants together with the people already working on the questions they are debating — alongside an industry and career forum.

A global alumni network

What has been missing until now: a way to stay connected to the people you met here, and to the sector, after the week ends.

More to be announced

Several elements of the 2027 program will be revealed over the coming months.
