Model ICAO is the only United Nations model held inside a UN organization. For five days, university students represent Member States, negotiate the future of international civil aviation, and vote their own resolutions in ICAO’s actual Council Chamber.
Diplomatic Luncheon with State Representatives
Model ICAO and the European Union are hosting an exclusive lunch bringing together participating students and representatives of the ICAO Council member states. This unique opportunity for direct dialogue offers participants a tremendous chance to meet and speak freely with these high-level diplomats.
Civil Aviation Career Fair
ModelICAO participants have exclusive access to a civil aviation career fair featuring institutions and organizations from the sector. This fair brings together stakeholders from the aerospace industry, interest groups, international organizations, and various government agencies.
Professional Networking Workshop
A workshop dedicated to professional networking, designed to provide practical advice on how to build rewarding professional relationships.
The workshop will be led by Alexandre Perron, Vice-President, Partnerships and Strategic Development, CORIM (Montreal Council on Foreign Relations).
Who is it for?
Model ICAO is open to university students from all disciplines, including law, international relations, political science, aviation management, engineering, and related fields.
No prior experience with ICAO is required. Participants are selected based on motivation, academic interest, and their willingness to engage in international dialogue.

What you actually do
You are assigned a State
Not the one you would have chosen. You research what it has signed, what it has refused, and what it stands to lose — then you defend that position for five days.
You sit on a committee
Safety, security, environment, economic develpment, legal and Council. Real files, current ones, briefed by professionals from ICAO, the European Commission, ACI World and McGill.

You negotiate, and then you vote
Working papers, draft resolutions, amendments, a crisis nobody prepared for, and a final vote in the Council Chamber on a text you wrote
